I've got some files with ac3 audio, I've got ffdshow as well as ac3filter installed but when I load the file in vdub, change the audio to full process mode and save the wav I get an error about no audio codec to decompress source tag 2000. I tried a direct enocde in tmpgenc but it didn't pick up the audio from the file so I have to extract it manually, I've also tried to change the direct show media filter thing up and down but that didn't do much. mm... yeah what to do or should I just extract it as ac3 instead of wav ? If so how?

hmmm yeah i'm going to convert it as vcd then put it on the dvd so that I can fit more on the dvd, I managed to extract it as direct stream audo but not the full process, why is this ? And is it better to extra audio from an avi as direct or full ? I've always did it as full even tho it takes longer and way more space. For some reason tho I tmpgenc keeps quitting with no error msg during the encode.
