hello,
i just ripped an avi and encoded the video stream as xvid and attached the sound stream to it.
the problem is, the longer the movie goes the audio/video offset gets bigger and bigger.
by the end of the movie, the audio is like 3 seconds in advance of the video.
what can i do about this? thank you!

Well I just had a similar problem with a xvid rip myself. The difference between my problem and yours is that my sync problem didn't progress as the movie went along as you spoke of.

This is my method of correcting audio that slowly gose out of position the longer it plays , it's not easy , but if you can get close , that'll do it ...
Works in both dirrections , behind or forward of video ...
Pull the audio from video as wav.
Open the wav in audio city .
Divide the audio file into equal segments .
Save each as sepearte audio file .
Hypercube Time Stretcher (you may need to search for this)
I'll see if I can retrack this thing down soon .
Well , after checking this post , it dose appear on site , nice ...
Load first wav file .
Sellect same folder for output , add "2" onto name .
Go to "stretching" , audio ahead , bring button left .
Click "render" .
Go to folder , sellect rename of new file , add ".wav"
Seems to forget to do this ...
Remember to use the same amount of stretching for all wav segments .
Back in audiocity , open first wav .
Import next part .
Select second wav , goto edit , copy .
Hit the "x" on second wav to close it .
Click right on the end of the first wav .
Edit , paste ... it should be smack on .
Repeat process till all audio has been connected .
Export as wav .
Getting this "perfect" will take some time , its all trial and error , but this dose work .
