  1. I'm running a toshiba 600 mhx laptop with 192 MB Ram. After about 20 minutes of playback dvd's start to pause, jump or skip. I've tried a variety of players including PowerDVD, MediaPlayer, VLC and MPlayer with no success. I've also disabled any start up items in my taskbar so it shouldn't be low on resources. I have the same problems if I'm playing other video files from the hard disk, so I don't think it's a dvd player problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Bit slow in the tooth department for dvd playback , but apart from this , do you play them while the mains power is connected or with just the battery pack .

If battery pack only , the system actually clocks back to conserve power .

Have you tried other dvd's , same problem ?

If issue exists with using either mains or battery power , the problem lie's with the optical drive itself , give it a couple of good cleans with cd/dvd clean disc and sollution , and retest .

(most cleaning sollutions just push the dust and dirt about the place)

If problem persists , drive should be replaced .

  3. I've tried running it with the power supply and with the battery, also it's not just when viewing a dvd, it's also with any avi's that are stored on the harddrive.
