I'm ripping the video from a DVD. I ripped it using MactheRipper to get the VIDEO_TS. Then I'm using DVDxDV to create a QT movie that I can do some color correction and other filters in FC Pro. That's great. I've got that under control.

However, the original disc is extremely complex. You can play the whole video, portions of the video with subtitles (captions for trivia), and portions of the video without subtitles. I believe that this is all done with scripting so that depending on which option you select, it will only play certain chapters of the stream (a story, if you're familiar with DVD Studio Pro).

Is there a utility that will rip a file containing the chapter information? Even if it's just a text file with the timestamps in it, I'll take it. What about ripping subtitles? What about ripping a story..even if it's just a list of chapters that play for each option?

It's pretty complex. But I'd appreciate any help.

    ouch.

your basically asking to de-author the disc,
and break it back down into all its components.

I'm thinking along the lines of something
Ti (sp) Forester would create....he's big into
creating stuff that will allow you to edit the DVD
    AFTER the fact of creation.
    You might try his website....

Take a look at Miraizon's Cinematize. They also are good at responding to email questions.
