Hello everyone, thanks for reading this:
I shot a shortfilm on HDV which, since it is HD is native 16:9, now after all the editing is done I would like to put my FCP exported 16:9 DVPAL.MOV into my PSP. BUT: What setting to choose? The PSP encode of course, sure! BUT: The image being native 16:9 gives a sqeezed image when played in a 4:3 formated player and normally gets a strech by it's player, like modern TVs or VLC player does it automatically - pulling it to a nice fullframe 16:9 image without the letterbox.
I can get it to be unsqueezed choosing the 16:9 (keep hight) setting but weiredly enough after the encoding process (which only takes about a minute) I get an mp4 in which the sound has been processed fine, just the picture of my 7 min. (AND THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM!) movie has been speeded up and shrunk to a total duration of 1Min. Meaning the visual action is running at 7times the speed in the encoded .mp4.
Anyone fells the same?... or better: knows how to make a 16:9.mov film show up on my PSP full frame and in normal speed. If some one can help me here, I am totally willing to purchase the software!!!

    Greetings from Germany

Manged myself! FCP exports seem to be difficult to go to PSP from. I converted the FCP exported .mov to an .AVI format first already setting it to 16:9 (keep hight) and leaving the rest settings as it is.
Then I took that .AVI and encoded it using the PSP preset, only adjusting that to the 16:9 (keep hight) mode, plus adding a bit of quality and voilá.
It playes full frame on my PSP, no letterbox - the only thing is, that one always gets a blown up picture - the normal size is smaller than the PSP display, so it does look less crisp than playing it normal 368x208 format.

    Good luck everyone.
