    Hi, I'm a newbie for sure. I just bought a high end Dell system with ;

    VIDEO CARD: 256mb pci expressx16(DVI/VGA/TV-out)nVidia GeForce6800
    SOUND CARD; Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS (D) card w/Dolby 5.1, and IEEE1394

    I attached a Panny Palmcorder with 2 RCA cables (yellow and white) that came with it for transfering video. Since the DELL only takes S video cables, I hooked up the black S video adapter that came with the computer.

    The video imported into the computer nicely but there was no audio. The RCA audio plug (white) that I pluged into the computers audio port doesn't quite fit snug and there lies the problem ( I think).

    My question is then since the card in the computer obviously doesn't take RCA audio cables, is there an adaptor for this audio port also? I didn't receive any audio adaptors with the DELL .

    Any help here is appreciated. DELL sure didn't help.

    Are you saying that your camcorder is so ancient that it only has yellow and white, no red? The audio line in on your pc will be a 3.5mm stereo jack plug which is why an RCA plug doesn't fit. You will probably need an RCA mono to stereo adapter (Y plug) and then an RCA to 3.5mm jack adapter. Alternatively, an RCA to 3.5mm cable would do the job (the ones that get supplied with portable CD players always come in handy), although most are stereo.

    That's alway assuming you haven't buggered up the line in socket on your new computer by jamming an RCA plug into it.....

    Yeah, I tried a 3.5 mm jack and it fits so I guess that's the answer. I guess DELL ran out of them when they were packing up my system.

    Thanks for the response!
