I just wondered if this program is capable of burning D/L's. This will be my first time trying to burn a D/L with my BenQ 162I external burner (16X) and I have talked to BenQ phone support and they are not sure of the softwares capabilities.
I am doing an analog/digital conversion which have been very successful with my Hauppauge USB 2 unit on shorter 60 - 80 minute VHS tapes and now I have longer ones 180 - 200 minutes in length and thus I want to insure that I use the correct proggy to attempt this as the discs are a little expensive.
    I would appreciate comments.
    Regards.

  2. Support for dual layer was added in 3.1.0.0 but it is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version. Some problems were reported in older 3.xx releases that caused failed writes when burning to DL.

Thankyou for the reply, what I would like to do is use my Movie Factory 3 which i have used with success with analog to digital conversion with my shorter 60 min vhs tapes and converted to 4.7 dvd's but now I want to convert my 180 minute vhs tape to DL dvd , by doing the following:
With Movie Factory 3 OEM, DVD Capture via Record and now with a MPEG 2 file in "My Video Files" Folder on my HD author a DVD onto a DL with a user friendly proggy and I have Nero Vision Express 3.0.1.18 but never installed it as I use Movie Factory 3 OEM and I just wondered if this version of Nero Vision would allow me to do this. Movie Factory 3 OEM does not do DL's.
Also is my version of Nero Vision Express not a good one, is that what you are saying??? I was advised it is a very recent Version in another forum, however my query was not answered there and thus I am back here trying to supply more details.
I simply want to Clone my 180 minute VHS tape onto a DL with no frills and a user friendly proggy.
I know I can do this with Movie Factory 4 Standard via an upgrade, however I thought if Nero could do it why bother spending the $.
I look forward to any replies and hope that I have explained myself more clearly.
It is kind of hard being a Noob.

As you seem to have an earler version of Nero Vision Express than above, you need to decide if you

    a) upgrade to the latest Nero Vision Express

    or

    b) upgrade to another burning app that supports DL

Thankyou once again for the response. It is much more clearer to me, as to what I will do.
Since Hauppauge packs their units with Ulead Movie Factory 3 OEM, what I will do is use the trial version of Movie Factory 4 until that time is up. I believe it is 30 days and then likely purchase it if it does the job fine.
That way I will not be wondering if I will have any problems with Nero Vision Express as far as working with the Hauppauge unit.
The reason that I mention that is because the phone support at Hauppauge were not entirely positive that I would not have problems with using Nero and that is the reason for my posts.
Again I thankyou for your experienced comments.
Forums such as this one help Noob's like myself make a better informed decision.
