    Hi there,

I'm currently using Nero Vision Express 3 to author and write avi files to DVD. For one particular project I am getting an error message immediately saying 'Burn Process Failed!' when it begins transcoding. For some reason it only happens with this project and not any other, all the settings are correct as far as I know, the avi file is large 4 hours long and 4.5GB in files size - any suggestions?

    Cheers!

Its a Nero software issue, that will prohibit copy-protected files from being reproduced. Even if your source file is a copy of a copy, or an edit. Nero is very sensitive to encoded files. Even if its not truly commercial copy protection, it will still fail the burn process. If you read the text file of the failed burn, watch for this phrase: Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)...

Well you could try 2 things.

Run it thru Avidemux. It usually asks to do a number of things... let it do them and then File-> Save-> Save video, leaving it in 'copy'. Note use a complete file name xxxx.avi.

You could also try the same with this app.

Hit generate-> Start and try that resultant AVI.
