Hey guys, I hope there are any video gurus out there who can help me with this very strange problem.

System Info:
Video capture card: Pinnacle Studio PCTV Series (RAVE, PCI)
Pinnacle driver : 4.0 - running 4.02 now
OS: WINme
Processor : AMD 1333 T-bird
RAM: 256 MB
Hard disk type: IDE
Hard disk model: 61 Gb 7200 RPM (IBM)
Motherboard: Asus A7V-133
Graphic card: Asus Geforce 2 MX400 7100
Sound card: Soundblaster 128
Other cards: Firewire card

Problem description:

I get strange flashing horizontal lines in hi-res
previewing mode! It happens in both Virtualdub and Realproducer when I switch to preview mode and set the resolution to 640*480 and higher. I try to capture video from the TUNER on the PCTV Rave card. The computer is up to capturing video at this resolution, but the weird lines remain on the captured video and makes it look bad.

The lines are horizontal, and appear as single-frame flashes randomly every second or so, both when capturing or not.

I have a picture of the lines on another board, please go to

to see it (scroll down a bit, it is on a reply).

I hope that anyone can help!
