    Hi, it may be descussed over and over, but I didn't find anything specific. I understand that when i insert a DVD in reader in my G5 I have only 5 times to do it with no specific region selected, after that the reader sticks with the last region of the played DVD. Is there any way to avoid that (I wanna be able to play different regions DVDs forever? Will the Region X software work and prevent that from happening or something else is to be done?

    This G5 has a Sony DVD RW DW-U21A reader/writer...

    you should be able to just play the dvd's through vlc and not have to worry about ever changing the region.
