After encoding, it said "unable to lock the volume from exclusive access." There are no other visible running applications. What does it mean?
I just hit ignore to continue burning but a couple of times, the message appeared. The files are TmpgencPlus Mpeg2-encoded videos from TV capture via Sony camcorder. The finished DVD took longer to start playing in my PC. I'm concerned that there are errors somewhere in the middle. It's late last night I didn't have a chance to play it to the end.
I was trying to write the DVD using DVD Shrink and ISO feature. And used TDA to create the DVD files

Tell me you aren't using your boot drive for your video editing/authorng purposes . . . Are you?
Sounds like the volume is being interrupted along the way - post back and let us know so we can close in on the problem.

What i think it was is that another program (usually the converter you are using) is still pointing at the files.
Close other apps and it should work.
But even if it doesnt, and you just hit ignore (which i had to first couple times) it seemed to make no difference as long as no other apps were actually processing (whether open or not) at the same time -
I only have one physical HD which is partitioned into three. All my video files are in the 3rd partition (if that is your question). On the other hand, I wonder how I can use DVDShrink or DVD Decrypter without using the boot drive in this case. Thanks to you and Zworg2 for the reply.Originally Posted by TaoTeWingChun

You can't. Since you only have one physical HD you have to use it. The fact that it has 3 partitions doesn't help- the read heads on the drive still have to constantly switch back and forth to read the (video) files on one partition and the OS and software information that it needs to operate on another partition- so it's still trying to read two different things at the same time just as it would if everything was on the same partition.Originally Posted by TaoTeWingChun
