Hi im new at using DVD Author 1.5.2 and ran into some problems.

Heres what I want to do:

I've recorded a tv program onto my dvd recorder and burned it onto a DVD.
I wish to create menus for the program and also edit the chapters. The dvd works fine on both my PC and my dvd player.

    The problem:

I have a list of vob files which i would like to add to my project.
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_02_1.VOB
    VTS_02_2.VOB
    VTS_02_3.VOB
    VTS_03_1.VOB
    VTS_04_1.VOB
    VTS_05_1.VOB

I start TDA and when I click Add file , I can add all files except VTS_02_2.VOB and VTS_02_3.VOB. I get a error:

This is an illegal video file

This is an illegal video file.
For DVD-Video you can only use the following video formats:

    MPEG-1 Video, MPEG-2 Video

Its strange because all the files are of the same qualtiy..the only difference i can find is that vts_2 is split into 3 files.

What shd i do to remedy this problem? Thank you for your help and suggestions.

PS; I have download Vobedit after browsing some posts but do not know how to demux the file properly as I still get the same error msg after creating a demxed file.

try click add dvd video and select the vob folder with tmpgenc dvd author. instead of adding the vobs separate.

Thks for your reply. I am now able to add the file. Previously I could not see any tracks with this option as I chose the wrong folder after ripping the DVD with DVDshrink. The files were located in a temp folder but i chose the temp/video_ts folder instead. Will post here again if I am able to create the disc.
