Can anyone recommend easy-to-use software that would allow me to QUICKLY cut 30 seconds or so from AVI files that were made using the XVID codec? By way of background, I've already converted some of my R-rated DVD's to AVI's using Fairuse Wizard and now I'd like to remove 1-2 scenes from each that will (once the scenes I find objectionable are removed) allow me to let my pre-teen watch the movie. I know I can do this by converting to MPEG and then recoding, etc., but I was hoping for something easier and more quick to use.
Freeware programs are preferred, but I'll consider purchasing a program that does what I want if the price is not prohibitively high.
Thanks.

Yep, VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod (if you use VBR mp3 audio). Keep in mind though that you can only cut on keyframes unless you re-encode.
