  1. I have finally got my HT sys up and running and I decided to do my first capture. I hooked up the feed from the TV (sat) to the computer, and captured to MPEG2 with ATI's MMC 8x. I used the great guide over at DigitalFAQ, and so far things went smooth. I made a couple of 5 min clips with a few settings to try and get a feel for how it all worked. Now I have 3, 5 min .mpg files. They play fine on the computer, sound is sync'ed (although i am not sure a 5 min clip would show any sync problems). So Step 2 I thought would be to burn them over to a DVD... this is where the problems lies. I am getting an error trying to load them into Nero. From the error message I am under the impression that my format isnt what the burning software is expecting. Should I be demuxing into audio and video, then burning. I have scoured the guides, and I just seem to be missing something. I wanted to just do a straight burn, nothing fancy to see how the capture actually turned out when I played it from a source other then my computer. Eventually I want to make some sort of menu to jump to different episodes on the same disc, but right now I just want to see if I am doing the right stuff with capture and burn.

    Software installed atm
    ATI MMC8x
    DVD Shrink
    One Click DVD
    Nero 6x

System details are accurate in my profile for the system I am using for HT

I should also mention, i have read the info i can find on demux/remux and honestly I am still rather confused on the subject.

  2. From Mpegs to dvd you need to author them before burning.
Something like Tempenc Dvd Author will do it.
    Not bothered by small problems...

  3. To simply test your mpeg skills, use ReJig to author the dvd.
