Recording NTSC vhs tape with winTV PVR

hi!
I have a wintv PVR in pal format,
and Im connecting a video that supports
ntsc playback.
I asked hauppauge support,
and they told me it can record from both pal and ntsc sources,
be it pal or ntsc card.
But when I connect my video,
which displays just fine on my pal tv,
it turns B&W on the win2000 window.
if I select pal instead I get color,
but alot of distortion on the bottom,
(probably due to different pal/ntsc format)
and it wont record me a valid mpg file.

Anyone know a solution to this?

I think you need setup two channle profile one for PAL one for NTSC

I have done that.
Still the same problem.

When I use ntsc settings I get good capture but no color,
pal settings I get no capture(corrupt files) but with colors.
