I think I saw a posting about this problem a while ago but can't find it now.
When encoding avi files with TMPGEnc 2.52 I get a result where the picture appears to be seen through a purple filter, then changes to a green filter and then back to purple and so on all through the movie. This doesn't affect all movies I decode. I've tried switching to older versions of TMPGEnc but the problem is there too.
Anyone with a tip as to what causes this - and if it can be avoided? Or is it just the luck of the draw and something to do with the original avi files prior to encoding?

What are you using for the cap? I have the ATI All In Wonder Pro 128 and that happens when you try to record from a source that has Macrovision copy protection on it. I'm trying to find alternatives to these cards such as the DV Bridge or similar breakout boxes. If you have an ATI product you should be aware that copy protected materials cannot be copied without doing mods to the ati registry entries. Do a search on the site and you will come up with an URL for that.

No - as far as I know the avi source is not Divx. But as I'm willing to try anything could you please tell me more about this 'angelpotion codec'?
