I'm having major issues playing DVDs. I ripped a DVD recently and played it, but I noticed there were strange colours and that things jittered, it also looked like it was repeating some of the frame. Once in a while a green bar would flicker too. I played it from disc and I have the same problem. I can't take a screenshot, it always comes out as a black screen when I do. I have no idea what's going on with this, I'm thinking it might be a codec problem but I'm not sure.

Try play with vlc. It has builtin codecs.

I would like to keep with MPC, I've used VLC before and preferred MPC over it so I'd like to fix the problem without switching over to another media player. I'd also like to just generally solve this problem too since it's bugging me a lot.

I have installed VLC though to see if the problem happens in there too, and it works fine (there's interlacing but some DVDs just end up like that when playing on a comp).

MPC has also builtin codec but can use external. So are you using the builtin mpeg2 codec in mpc? Under View->Options->Internal Filters and check if mpeg2 codec is checked under Transform filters and DVD Video Title set under Source filters.

    Um...

Well it seems the problem has just corrected itself. I don't know how but it plays fine in MPC now. But to answer your question, yes they are checked under Internal filters.
