  1. After narrowing it down, I am having problems playing Dvd files from my new hard drive (WD320GB) after ripping. I am running XP Home SP2. Files play perfectly fine when burned to a disc on Dvd drive or when copied to old HD but stutters when viewed from new hard drive location. Anyone have ideas for me to try.

  2. XP Home is a real dog's breakfast and SP2 is the kiss of death. If possible, rip out XP Home and reinstall an SP1 version. If that's not possible, go back to Win 2K.

Another possibility: your BIOS may not provide adequate support for a 320 gig drive. If that's the case, you're pretty much b0rked. A BISO upgrade might help if you can flash it, but otherwise, another HD would be only solution to that one.

  3. I already flashed my BIOS, I'm not having a problem with accessing the memory. The files play fine on my old drive. I also have DMA set. This does not seem to be an ordinary problem as several people are already trying to help.
