i want to analogue capture VHS footage with the timecode
visible on the tape;
do i need a special kind of vcr to do this?
i don't see anything "timecodish"in my present vcr manual,
only a counter that you can zero out.
OR, is there some way to put the timecode on the
captured footage, no matter what vcr i use?
i will be using Pinnacle DV500 for capturing;
and Adobe Premiere for editing.
thanks!

On your VCR look for a "Display" button to toggle on screen display. On a camcorder it may be display or data screen or some other name.

thanks kitty,
yes, i am aware of the "display" button;
but all that happens when i press it is i just get a counter that i can zero out if i choose to ; it does not give me the timecode on the tape;
do all vcr's come with timecode display?
maybe not ...??
