i Just recently got my " ATI All In Wonder 32 " card.. having a big prob when i try to capture ive tryed capturing threw the TV section , and ive tryed with Virtual DUB.. same thing every time.. I get bad skips in my captures, it will play for 2 seconds then skip, skip, skip over and over in the same frame.. any way to fix that.. my computer specs are below
1000 AMD Athlon
384mbs RAM
2 - 40 gig HDs
is 1000mhz to slow?.. ive tryed everything cant get rid of this problem.
whats wierd also is when the frame is skipping over and over i can see the movie playing normal a lil bit at the top (in the background).. this have to do with anything like capturing in Real Time? ive seen something like that... please let me know , thanks all

Are you sure you're seeing skipping (frame drops) or blockyness ?
Are you capturing MPEG ? If so what settings ? -
Thanks for the reply :
its like both.. when i capture it looks ok .. but when i go to play the video i captured sometimes it puts a green screen over the movie but at the top i can see lil gap of the movie playing .. same thing like that with the frame dropping.. it will be dropping then on the top i can see lil gap of hte movie playing

If it's a green bar on part of your video, it sounds like it could be an overlay problem. What display drivers are you using ?
-
1. What resolution are you trying to capture?
2. What is your CPU usage while capturing?
Since you are runing Win98SE, just start...run...SYSMON to bring up the simple (but useful) System Monitor that will measure your CPU usage (and other data) in real-time. If it's not installed you might have to go get your 98SE disk and add it. If your CPU usage is close to 100%, that would be where your frame drop might be coming from.As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
To Answer Your Questions.. =o] Hopefully this will help.
Display Driver Im Using : wme_radeon_4_13_7189.exe
if theres newer, please let me know which one i need to obtain

how whould i disable microvision?
i really appreciate everyones help, thanks again. -
If you're trying to capture a movie, try to capture something that is not copy protected. If the problems goes away when you capture TV or other non-protected video, you know it's the Macrovision. If it's still there, then you have some problems with your video driver and or video card resources.
