  1. I click on "preview" and I can see a app in the dock try to launch, but it never does anything at all. It happens way to fast for me to see it in top or process viewer. What is going on?

  2. Hi, I am not an authority in ffmpegX but for what you say it seems to me that mplayer is launching but then quiting. mplayer is the application invoked by the preview button. What file format are you trying to preview ?

If it is a dv or mp4 (say) can you view it with quicktime ?

mplayer can be invoked at the terminal, if you know how to do this give it a try it is in /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX.

  3. Is preview something that can not work untill I tell it to start encoding? When I drag and drop a file in, the "save as" path is to a file that does not exist, if I change that path to one that does exist, then preview does work. Or, is preview supposed to do a quick encode and then show you that result?

  4. Preview shows what has been encoded so far, so if you don't start the encoding, nothing shows. You may however use "Play" to preview the source file.

  5. Mind you there is also a preview button in the Filters window, which plays the file before encoding so that one can see and adjust the cropping parameters.

  6. What I've noticed.

Preview for .mpv files, generated (encode DVD ffmpeg) when normalise audio is on, does not work in version 0.0.9s.

I've not tested any other configurations.

  7. Thank you, there is a bug in this specific case indeed. I will fix it for next version.
