  1. When i encode some of my home movies with Main conecpt encoder i put noise reduction at its ighest which makes it smooth except when there is a sudden change in lighting, zoom or when theres fast motion. What is the est way to remove pixelation when there is a sudden change in lighting, zoom or when theres fast motion? Keep in mind i encode all my home movies with the PAL SVCD template. Please help!

You probably can't. Using the SVCD template means you can't give over enough bitrate to handle the fast motion. You need to be able to give it 7-8mb/s in fast scenes to ensure you get enough bitrate for the motion.

Is there any particular reason you use this template ?

  3. for disk space since at the moment my dvd writer is deciding not to do what i want it too. Isn't there a filter or setting on the programs i use which are (DVD2AVI,VFAPICodec reader, Song Vegas 5, Main concept encoder) Isnt there a way to at least minimize the pixelation.

The pixelation is coming from the encoding being starved for bitrate during these scenes. There is no filter to stop this as it happens well after filters have been applied.
