How to make the a gif played when a clip is selected

Hello,

On professional made DVD's they usually have when you choose a chapter or video a picture or something flies by or plays.

I am using Sony DVD Architect and Ulead Movie Maker, I will purchase whatever program is needed to get this.

I dont want a motion menu, what I want is when the person selects a movie a different image plays. Or even the background will play. I know how to make the motion menus.

you mean when you hit play,it will play a small clip then the movie,kinda like an intro? set end action.

Transitions. They're just mpegs encoded like any other, and placed to autoplay between menus/movies.

What you're talking about here are switched motion menus.

Are there any other programs I can use that has switch menu? It is really a pain to have make the dvd files then preview it.

Use dummy movies during compiling (look for the tick box on the compile screen).
Takes less than a minute, then preview.
Once you have everything the way you want, compile using the actual movie.

Thanks the dummy file idea is great. But whenever I do the switched menu I have my background as a still, then when I click to play the video it makes the background move but doesn't play the video. Sorry for all the questions, but please help some more :}

I got it!!! YES! THis is great! Thanks so much! FYI I am a backyard/indy wrestler and I have dvd's but they all basically sucked the menus so this new one is gunna be great!
