I wanted to know if this exists.

I would like to get a DVD player for my car. But not for video.
I want a DVD full of mp3's that I can play in my car.
Does a product like this exist?
I know you can get DVD players that will play a cd full of mp3's but what a DVD full of them.?
    If so, who sells 'em?

    Thanks.

  2. Don't know about DVD players... if I were going to look for one, I'd check at www.crutchfield.com.

However, I would suggest just getting a regular CD deck that has line in. That way you can get an MP3 player that will hold WAY more than a DVD and just hook it up to your car when you get in. I have mine set up so I can do that if I want. Depending on what CD deck and MP3 player you get, it might even cost you less than getting a DVD deck (if they make such a thing). I think they even make PIE adapters that to hook up to an iPod (and maybe other players?) that will display the name of the songs on your CD deck.

What model components do you actually have?
How easy is it to access and find files?
If I got an MP3 player like you are talking about with my whole collection then there would be many thousands of files.

Something with a decent size display would be nice.
I'll check out Crutchfield and see if I can find anytyhing.

    Thanks,
    Andy

This is my CD deck (except mine's silver):

Here's the PIE adapter I got for it so I could run my XM radio and my MP3 player directly into it:
    http://www.crutchfield.com./S-npq3EukRtdh/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=50900&id=essential_info&i=105KSU57

    Here's my MP3 player):

It's pretty easy to access files because it's got such a big display and the buttons are easy to feel out when you're not looking at it. The most I can do without looking though is play, pause, next track, and previous track... so I usually just set it to shuffle my entire collection and if I hit a song I don't want to hear I just tell it to go to the next one.
