I've been having a problem with the latest batch of ridata/riteks I bought. A bunch of the disc have no scratches or anything but I still get uncorrectable errors in nero cd-dvd speed. I just burned another dvd onto a ridata and when I did a test in nero cd-dvd speed the graph dips low in one spot then continues to climb after but it didn't report any errors. IS this disc still ok? I also notice that the last two batches of ridata I got ,that even if they have a tiny tiny scratch they refuse to play and skip a lot , while other brands can have tons of scratches and plays fine.

When you say it shows a dip, I'm assuming you are talking about the transfer rate test. What it is telling you is that it can read all of the data on the disc with no errors, but that it is having some difficulting reading the disc in that one spot, probably a block of higher PI/PO errors (readable and recoverable errors).
A LARGE dip often indicates that there's a good chance that the DVD may skip or stutter at that spot on the disc, some players can handle those discs better and not skip, while others may struggle. If it was a data disc, it would not be as much of a concern, but ideally you'd want a transfer rate test with only very minimal dips or none at all. I've had discs with several large dips, as long as they stay about 2x speed or better I've not really had issues playing the discs, but a lesser player might skip.
