Hi, I searched the forums and couldn't find any info on my problem, so I'm starting a new thread.
I'm new here so, sorry if my question is mis-categorized!

Ive used Windows Movie Maker for years, (and some old Adobe program before that)
and I recently upgraded (or so I thought) to Nero 8 (Nero Vision 5).

One Simple problem (simple, yet VERY annoying) that Ive had is trying to edit (slowdown/speed up)
    my video speeds!

This was a simple task in WMM, and it's not included in my $ new software???

Is there a plug-in that would allow me to do this??

I would just go back to WMM and do the speed-editing there, but for some reason I cant import my
video files recorded with my video camera ( Sony DCR-SR45 ). Says that I don't have the codec on my computer, and I cant find a way around this either! (HELP!!)

Thanks in advance to everyone who helps!

Nero is not a real editor - even less so that Movie Maker. If you wanted to get an editor you should have bought an editor, not the glorified burning tool that is Nero. I would recommend Ulead VideoStudio, Sony Vegas Movie Studio or Premiere Elements.

Speeding up or slowing down video in a non-linear editor is NOT a simple task on the level of fades & cuts that Nero Vision can do so yes, the answer is NO. Of the NLEs mentioned I doubt if Premiere Elements will have it (may do, I don't know). Premiere Pro, Vegas, and Ulead MediaStudio WILL have it.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".

I think that your best bet would be to load that codec onto your machine. Then you will be able to do what you have always done they way you always have done it. Nothing new to learn.

Load your camera video into GSpot and it should tell you what codec it is using. Then search the internet for that codec and install. Job done!
