  1. I am very new to this, so forgive me if I am not "up" on the terminology. I have some home video taped on a mini DV camcorder. I eventually would like to put it on video CD, where I can play it on my DVD player (I donot have a DVD burner). My question is, what would be the best way (quality-wise) to capture the video onto my computer? I have a dazzle converter that allows USB connection, but the included software sucks. I have captured it using the Windows movie maker, but it is in the .wmv format. Is this good enough, or will I need to re-capture using another format? Thanks in advance.

  2. I use a product by Pinnacle called Studio DV. It allows you to download the image from you camara and add sound tracks backround music transitions etc. When your done it gives you the option of recording it back to you camara , creating MPEG files and a few other choices.

  3. i'm guessing your camera supports firewire? if it does go get a firewire card, and adobe premier. you'll have to compress with media cleaner pro though, it's a bit slower but the quality is very good. your wmv might be good enough you'll have to actually compress it an see... if your dvd player supports svcd you'll want to use that it's less compatible(less player can use it) but better quality.
