If I was to sell my year old mobo, processor & case would half the current retail price be about right? If not how much?

Well I have a p4 3ghz, Gigabyte mobo with all the trimmings (onboard sound,SATA, ethernet, legacy ports,4 usb) and Antec full tower case with clear window 520 watt PS, 4 case fans, front firewire/usb ports...... Definitley not junk.

I would expect to get at least half the current retail price for that.Originally Posted by thecoalman

Well it's for my cousin so if I rip myself off I'm not too concerned.Originally Posted by SLICK RICK

IMHO, you are giving him a good price, simply because the hardware you are selling to him will be very useable for the next couple of years.Originally Posted by thecoalman

You could check what similar items are currently selling for on eBay.
That would give you a general idea.
Check the sold prices, not the starting prices.

What's wrong with Dell? I don't own a dell but I'm just curious why you are against it. Mac...no explanation needed.Originally Posted by SLICK RICK

Don't know how true this is now but for starters propietary components. Not sur if it was here but I read a thread somewhere discussing a nonstandard power supply they installed on some machines that used the same connector for the mobo as a standard power supply... I'm sure there was quite few pissed consumers with fried mobo's who would have love to strangle the engineer that decided to do that. Second you can get the same high-end machine for 2/3 to 1/2 the cost from other vendors or by building it yourself. The only machines I would ever consider buying from Dell or Gateway would be there lowest priced ones, you can't beat those prices anywhere.Originally Posted by pyrate83
As for Mac I have no experience with them but personally the lack of many software titles comes to mind first. -
I have nothing against Dell, but I have always thought that their commercials sucked big time.Originally Posted by pyrate83
