I have a Canopus MVR 1000 which was bought a few years ago.
I'm wondering what it might be worth today and what technology
would be equivalent today. Here are some specs:
- PCI card that convert analog video to MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video
in real-time.
- NTSC and PAL compatible
- MPEG-2 D1, MPEG-2 half-D1 and MPEG-1
- IPB (MP@ML) and I-frame-only encoding
- CBR and VBR encoding
- Composite and S-Video inputs
- 3D Y'/;C separation filtering
...
I'm just curious what this forum thinks this card might be worth today.
Thanks,
VN

about $475-$500 new right now and still a current product ...
should be able to get $100 -$200 for it if all packaging and manuals and such with it ... if not - deduct $50
other hardware encoders have come out (even from canopus) that are cheaper or same ....
this card lacks sdi and component inputs - which makes it kinda a dead horse for pro use or studio use ..."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
