Hello, my first post here and I am hoping someone can help. I am producing a 90 second weather report. Right now I am laying out my "weather package" (maps, graphics, and so on) in final cut, and exporting as a quicktime movie.
I hook up my sony camcorder via firewire to my macbook and use a free program from Zach Poff just to preview/play the weather package as the background image. I have to know what I am pointing at, and have an external monitor hooked up to the minidv output on my macbook. I look to the side and can see myself pointing at the maps.
I record the video/audio to the sony camcorder, while the weather package I made in final cut plays as the background image in the chroma program. I then capture the footage for post production where I line up the weather graphics with the camcorder green screen chroma footage.
Question is, does anybody know of a free or inexpensive PC program that can do the same thing? I have googled and looked around and found nothing. I really don't want to get a $1000+ piece of hardware.
