    Not with that machine!

    Hello,

    What about the "Components" hmm????

Dvd burners, 3d cards, dsl... Those are independent of the processor. But I needed a new platform to work from. The old Amd 850mhz HP just wasn't cutting it.

    Kevin
Components? Hmm, 3 PCI slots, no AGP, non-DL burner, sub 1Mb DSL....

    Welcome to last week!

C'mon yoda....j/k. Anytime you take a step up (even a baby step), it feels good.

Not really. Just depends what you want to do with it!

I built a pc for our security cameras with a Celeron.
Then decided to do some video work with it. Worked great.

It won't run circles around my P4 machines but
    the price was right!

Building another one with a Celeron D. Saved bucks again.

For heavy video work the P4 probably shines, but to say Celeron
sux is like saying the '71 Pinto wasn't a nice car.

Well, maybe that's a bad example!!!

OK. As far as I understand, they are the worst perfoming chips on the market. If you like it ,good. My stepdad still uses a P2 166.He dont mind it,but I cant stand it. A 3gb HD I would never buy a celeron.

I use to have a Pentium 60 and it came with a Windows 3.1 and a huge 512 MB hard drive that no one ever thought I would fill up and back in 1994 that was high edge technology.

We bought a Pentium 75 with a 1.028GB Conner (defunct co.) hard disk. I wondered if it was a misprint on the ad

First machine (that I actually bought) was a IBM PCjr (ended up turbo charging it with 640k and dual floppies) (Any one remember the '84 - 85 commercials from IBM ... PFS Write, Report, File. My favorite app back then (actually did macro progammming) was Q&A

    then:
    - Compaq "Luggable" 8086 and 640k with an AST sixpack

    - Compla of 286's and 386's ... remember the first 2x cdrom I bought in '88 for $300.00 (I couldn't afford a full bore 386 so I had to buy an SX version ... remember those

    - P1 at 233 I think and most recently a P42G
