  1. I'm trying to capture with IUVCR and I cannot get the video to capture. I see the video great in the preview window but when I record it, I get great audio but the video is black. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Details:
ATI TV-Wonder, Windows XP, IUVCR capture at 640x480.

  2. I think I got it. After some more tweaking, I changed the capture format from its default of YUY2 to YUV9 and I got the video. Now I can proceed to the next task of finding an MPEG-2 codec to use with IUVCR & VDub.

  3. I used IUvcr with the ATI TV wonder card also. I'm glad you found the solution to your problem. I had the same problem also, but changed the avi format to RGB24(bit) uncompressed and it works great. I'm currently using Cinema Craft Encoder 2.5 for the video compression. I did have a problem with the encoder erroring out on the original video, but if I run it through VirtualDub (I have to any way to get rid of the interlacing artifacts), then CCE encodes the video fine. I use TMPGEnc to multiplex the audio and video together. I haven't tried capturing directly from VirtualDub since I haven't installed the VFW wrapper. I probably won't either since IUvcr captures at 20megs a second with only using 40% CPU resource and no frame drops

    1 Ghz Athlon
    320megs ram
two 40 gig 7200rpm ATA 100 hard drives
    Win98se and XP
ATI TV wonder( go it for $30 new )
