  1. Ok I have the Samsung DVD M301 dvd player. I know this plays VCD's because I have a copy of Mission Impossible 2 that I got from someone else and it plays flawless.

Im trying to make my own vcds using the main programs (premiere 6.0, TMPGEnc, Nero 5.5, VCDEasy)

NONE will play on my dvd player. Once I got lucky and after 3 tries of trying to play it, it did, but after that it wouldnt come back up. Im gonna break down my steps so someone can tell me if I'm doing this wrong.

    1. Premiere 6.0
I have tried exporting it as an uncompressed AVI, or compressed with 2 different codecs that came with premiere.
    2. TMPGEnc
Pulled up the VCD template and didnt touch a thing, loaded the avi and let it rip
    3. Nero 5.5
Started the process for a VCD, dropped the mpeg into nero, and it gives me that error saying, something in the video stream is wroung, and the audio sampling, and lets me re-encode, so I let it do that.

Finally I pop it in my dvd player and low and behold , it says No-Disk

I have tried using AVISYNTH, but not sure If I am doing this right, I export it using premiere using that, keep the plugin window open, open the part0.avs in TMPGEnc, and let it go. But I have tried this and the MPEG, plays WAY messed up. I have tried SVCD, and when I use the template and drop it into Nero, its fine, no error, but still will not play. I tried VCDEasy also, and same thing, burns fine but wont play. I have tried 6 kinds of CDs/CD-RWs. I REALLY need this for a project I am doing. WHAT CAN I BE DOING WRONG this is so frustrating, Ive wasted 12 cds so far, and I know my dvd player works fine because right after all this, I pop in Mission I2 and it plays perfect.

  2. Sounds to me like something is not set up with your Premiere 6.0 program. I use VirturalDub to capture to AVI, I use the same programs you use execpt for Premiere and get great results. I too have a Samsung M301 and they all play with no problems. What I would do is open the AVI file with VirtualDub, go to file information to see how your AVI was set up with the Premiere software.

I'm not at the computer right now, but I DO know that it has the aduio as 48000Khz

Quick question, do I HAVE to compress a file in premiere to use right? I dont want to lose ANY quality because its only a 7 min video. I just want to export it as an uncompressed avi, the use TMPGEnc

    also whats VFAPI?

will TMPEnc, take a divx avi and convert to MPEG-1 just the same as any other avi?

if it doesnt, go into options, environmental settings, vfapi plugin tab, move directshow filter to priority of +5
