Since a good number of people are using the MMC 7.5 for the ATI cards, it would be of great help to all of us if someone knew where we could get additional frames sizes for that AVI section of MMC 7.5.
Right now the choices are very limited and seem to focus on the Vertical resolution, which to me is not as important as the Horizontal res. If you want to capture at a Horizontal res of yyyX480, there is only one choice in MMC 7.5 and that is full res of 640x480. I want and need 480x480.
Since the performance of my system seems to be limited an can't quite make it to 640x480, and I really want to capture both frames (i.e. need 480 to do that), I'm stuck and so are a lot of other people.
I've tried using VirtualDub and setting custom res to 480x480, but it won't perform,... and I think it's because that res does not exist in MMC 7.5. I've also tried AVI_IO, and it's the same story,.. while you can set the custom res,... the capture produces frozen video and good audio. Again, these programs both depend on the ATI capture card for video in. If they try and set a frame size that doesn't exist,.. who knows what happens.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
