  1. Hello,

We are trying to find some software to enable us to produce a DVD with multiple titles - rather than one big VOB file.

This is to be used by a simple DVD player with a serial controller which can't see chapters or menus - it just gives you access to the titles on the disk.

We aren't sure if the Pioneer AO3 drive will do the job but currently all our authoring software seems to make one big file every time anyway.

Has anyone tried to do this before? What experiences did you have and did you find software that could do it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Maxim

  2. I have had the same problem, and still haven't found a solution......

I want a dvd authoring program that you don't have to use menu's, but simply drag in your .mpg files and basically use a dvd as a vcd (with much better quality of course!) with the ability to just drop in the disc and play, and the "next" button simply moves you to the next title on the disc. If you find a way, let me know

  3. DVDit or SpruceUp

I have created several educational or tutorials on dvd where I didn't want the entire move playing. ( seamless playback)

So instead of creating one large file, in Adobe premiere

I just use seperate short avi/mpg files imported them into DVDit as well as SpruceUp then made 4-6 menu buttons or text links, and connected each avi file to a menu button or text link.

and burned it with and A03 and when I play it on my set-top player the dvd starts up and goes to the Menu and you have to select which movie you want to play by selecting play or next.

  4. Thanks for the replies,

Actually, we have found with DVDit, when you bring multiple video files in - separate MPG2 files in this example, when you create an image file, only a single VOB file is created, which represents all the video clips stuck together.

The deck we want to play this DVD on has the most basic Serial device control which only allows you to select which 'Title' you want. That means the menu system on the DVD isn't really applicable.

Any more suggestions? Or can you give any more details of how you would do it?

    Thanks!

  5. Don't know what you're referring to when you mention your old player... but VideoPack 5 makes multiple .vob files when I put several movies on to one DVD.

    Maxim,

What do you mean the software creates just one VOB file? What if the size of the file exceeds 0.99 Gb?

Download a trial version of Ulead's DVD MovieFactory.

I burned a DVD-RW that had multiple MPEGs of the same clip (experimenting with encoding settings to see what looked better). I skipped the menu creation phase in DVD MovieFactory.

When I put the DVD in My Pioneer 525 player it started playing the first MPEG. I could either let the MPEGs play in order or I could press the "next" buttion to move to the next MPEG.

I also did this with the MyDVD version that was bundled with the DVR-A03.
