Can I rip a DVD so that a subtitle stream is forced during playback?

Yes. When using DVD Shrink, right click on the title you want and select "Set Default Streams". Under Subpicture, select the one you want to play as a default. Very useful in foreign language films.Originally Posted by rhegedus

Essentially, you would add a SetSTN command in the pre-command area of your movie PGC. If you're totally new to this, you can check out a guide I wrote for jumping straight to the movie.
It explains how to find your movie PGC, how to add commands, and even says a few things about changing subtitles and audio...
