  1. Hi,

I've tried playing two DTS audio cds on my DVD player (JVC XV-N50BK). The sound is excellent, but fairly often the sound will drop out for a second, then continue playing until the next time it happens. One of the cds I tried was purchased; the other one was a downloaded sample that I burned onto a cd, using Nero. DVD movies with DTS audio tracks play fine on my DVD player. Do you think it is a problem with the DVD player? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for the help!

Haven't had any problems playing DTS CDs that I have made myself. Have not tried it with commercial DTS CDs.

The downloaded version could be an issue with the media, but a purchased one showing the same type of problems indicates something more fundamental. I'd start with cables before replacing a whole player. Do you use coax or optical ?

  3. I use an optical cable. My audio receiver is a Panasonic SA HE-200.

    two points:
    1. DTS sound tracks normally will be decoded by the amp. Which leads to a cable amp (decoder) problem.
    but
    2. if the disc is scratched or damaged or your player is in bad condition you find the error there.

    DTS from DVD works fine

This doesn´t really help because the DVD uses another sampling rate (1. -> decoder might work fine with 48KHz)
    Another media (2.)

    bye Daphy

  5. So, you are saying that the problem might be my surround receiver?
