I've recently transfered a DVCAM tape to disk, and on loading it into Vegas 5 (PC), soon after the software begins to build its audio peaks, I get the following error:

The very nice people at Sony suggested that I recapture the video using Vegas Capture, instead of what I had used... MS Movie Maker.
I had assumed that all capture software merely transferred the data from a DVCAM tape to disk.
Clearly not. Having recaptured the video with Vegas Capture, this solved the problem.
