  1. Hello,

I have a DivX video which image size is 576x304. When I convert it to DVD with ffmpegX using the DVD mpeg2enc Quick preset default settings, I get a video output that is stretched vertically (by about 10%). This also happens when using the SVCD mpeg2enc Quick preset, but the stretching is only about 5%. How do I get an unstretched video output ?

    Thank you

  2. Check if you are using "Decode with Quicktime" with the "Letterbox" option enabled.

  3. Thank you. Yes, I am using the "Decode with Quicktime" option. I have also tried "Decode with mplayer", but the result is the same (from this point of view). I am also using the "Letterbox" option. I tried to uncheck this option, but the resulting video is also (and even more) stretched vertically.

  4. Does your source include black bars? Did you observe the effect on a TV screen?

  5. No, the original DivX does not include black bars. I use VLC to view it on TV, and it is not stretched vertically. Black bars are added (by VLC) only when I choose "Full Screen".

  6. When you observe a stretch effect, it is on Quicktime Player, Apple DVD Player or VLC (have you tried ffmpegX 'play' button?).

  7. It is both in VLC and ffmpegX preview. I did not try Apple DVD Player and Quicktime Player.
