  1. For the love of God, I must be an idiot. Please, restraint folks

I have 5 mpegs that I wish to burn on a dvd with a little menu. Each mpeg has chapter points for scene selection in it (that I really dont care about).

All I want is a simple menu that pops up first so I can choose which mpg I want to view before it just starts randomly playing. But I cant figure out how to do it.

When you click on the create menu button, on the left, you get the main title and the chapter points. Can I get rid of the chapter points that are there? Or will that screw up the mpeg?

At the bottom right, where it says next page, I click on that and I just have more chapter points in the same episode (or so it seems).

*sigh* Please, oh please, offer me some assistance.

Oh and by the way, I AM using a guide that I got off this site. Not sure who the author is though. That part got cut off at the top.

Not an idiot - it can just be a little confusing at first.

Put each of your videos on a separate track - this will give you five clickable options on the main menu.

You will also get a chapter menu for each of the videos.

If you don't want chapter menus then under 'Menu display setting' select 'Only Main Menu'.

Under the 'Firstplay action' option select 'Display Main Menu'.

Under 'Action to take after each track has been played' you can chose to have Return to the main menu or start playing the next video.

If you want to keep separate chapters for each of the videos select 'Main menu and Track menu' under the Menu Display options..
(Use edit menu theme to select a more interesting menu system).

There! have I confused you even more?

  3. How much room does a simple menu take?

I have 5 files on the dvd. At the bottom where the "space filled" bar is, after I add the 5 files, I am still ok and in the blue. As soon as I start with the menu, it goes into the red.

    Hello,

If you want a really complex menu you could shrink the video_ts folder with dvdshrink after you're done. Of course if your dvd is really large you'll lose a little quality in the shrinking process...

  5. No no. thats just it. I DONT want a big animated menu. Just the main menu, one screen, where I can choose which of the 5 files I want to view.

From step 2 I add the files. ITs all good. I go to create menu, and the progress bar goes red and I havent done anything yet lol
