Can anyone help with reference to a post or a sticky on making a (simple) highlight DVD just from ripped vob files out of my favourite DVDs. Would this be an easy process?
The reason is whenever someone calls in and wants to see my home cinema it would be a lot easier than swapping discs around, I would love a demo disc like the ones they have in retail outlets,
Thanks

Give it a try and let us know
You probably want to use DVD2OneX's join functions to join up chapters you've ripped. However I doubt it will be totally straightforward, for starters not all DVDs use the same audio format. I also seem to recall that the join mode is quite fussy, especially about joining two clips that arent in identical formats.

Rip Your VOBs first, then use them as input on Chapters menu in old Sizzle to author them...

I have done this with Toast 6. Just drag them and burn them under the video tab. If you have Toast with Jam, it includes the AC3/Dolby encoder, so it will just "pass-thru" both the video and the audio. This is nice since it does not reencode the video, it simply prepares it and burns to disc.
One caveat: there seems to be a bug in Toast that the first video in the order will play last: therefore put your last song at the top of the list and your first second in the list and all will be well. If you want menus, just click the 'add menu button' checkbox.
If you want the AC3 to be passed thru, make sure you have Dolby Digital selected (requires Toast with Jam). -
Vaj, I'm pretty certain that Toast passes through an existing AC3 audio track without re-encoding it. Jam is only needed if you want tracks encoded to AC3 or if you want to use the DVD Music Album feature in Toast.
