I have some DV movies that I want to eventually put on dvd, but they are in a lower rez. than the DVD spec. How can I re-encode them to the upsized standard without creating total garbage? SHould I just trust the DVD authoring progs, or should I take more control with something else?
    thx.

You should be able to just drag the file.. its not like ur converting 352,240.
640 is close enough to 720 with out loss of quality. If you still think that quality may be severely sacrficed then try a lanczos resize. Its a resize that provides alot of sharpening to try to attain original details.

    You can also use 352 X 480 (1/2 DVD), it's a legal DVD standard.
