I'm having problems with getting my movies to run when using DVD2ONE I have the latest version (3.1.5), burning with NEC1100A, using Ritek DVD+RW. Everything runs and burns fine, but it just won't work on my standalone DVD players. Is there an option in DVD2ONE to select "overburn"? The reason why I ask this is because when I use DiscJuggler, my movies don't work on my standalone player, unless I choose the "overburn" option.

I have tried 2 different kinds of media......Ritek and Verbatim, but it still just doesn't want to read it on my player. Any suggestions or tips that you guys can offer that might solve my problem. Should I try DVDshrink or maybe DVD95? Could that maybe be a solution or would it be the same thing?

  2. I assume you are putting the DVD2one files into a VIDEO_TS folder then burning that folder?

Sure try DVDshrink since it's free not much risk there. Also until you figure out the problem do all your burns on DVD+RW media so you don't wste a disc. Eheat is the make and model of your stand alone DVD player? Maybe it doesn't work with DVD+R media.

Yes I am putting it into a Video_TS folder. My standalone is a sony NS700P. It plays DVD+RW disks, but not DVD+R. I have gotten it to work with a program called DiskJuggler, but I still can't figure out why my disks NEVER work with DVDdecryter or DVD2ONE. I don't understand why.

Well if you look here (link below) it's telling me your player should play DVD+R and DVD+RW and also DVD-R so I'm at a loss to why its not working with DVD2one. Try using DVDshrink and see what happens. Also have you tried the discs that don't play on a friends DVD player just to make sure it's not a disc media problem?

Yes, I have tried on my sister's standalone (sony), and it doesn't work. I'm going to try DVDshrink and see how that works out for me. This DVD backup/copying thing is a lot harder than I expected. It's not half as easy as CD-r at all. Oh well.

  6. What program are you using to burn the media? I have a NEC ND1100A burner and I use both RecordNow Max and RecordNow DX which seems to work well.

Doesn't DVD2ONE supposed to burn it for me too? DVD2ONE transferred the VIDEO_TS from one location to another location that I made up. The process took about 40minutes. What do I do with that VIDEO_TS? I have to use a different app to burn it? I thought it burns it also just like how DVDdecryter does. Could I use any program like Nero, Roxio, or DiscJuggler to burn that VIDEO_TS folder? And do I burn it as a image file or data file?

Burn the VIDEO_TS folder as a data file. I wouldn't use Roxio since I made a bunch of coasters before I wised up ad deleted it from my drive. Nero works for others here but I'm not familiar with it and I have never heard of DiscJuggler.

Here is what I use to make DVD backups using DVD2one. First I rip using SmartRipper then I use DVD2one to process the ripped files to a VIDEO_TS folder then I burn that folder using RecordNow Max to either a DVD+R using my NEC drive or to DVD-R using my Pioneer drive. If I use other programs like DVDshrink or DVD95 Copy I still rip with Smartripper and burn with RecordNow and this has worked for me on 300 burns.

I REALLLLY appreciate all the help and advice you are giving me. I'm learning quite a bit as I go along thanks to the help of fellow forum members here. Is RecordMax freeware? And when I download it as a data file, how will my standalone player read it? I though it has to always be burned as an image file?

  10. I don't think RecordNow is free and I don't even know if the offer a demo. I started off with RecordNow DX which came with another burner I bought then bought RecordNow Max at a local store.

The second part of your post I don't understand.
