  1. hey gang,
lemme tell you you what i did and hopefully someone can shed some light on the subject.

I had a file i convert with tmpgenc and burn it to a DVD format with movieFcatory. The original file was 400 megs , i change it to 4+ gigs and the quality came out great. Put it in my ps2 (only dvd player i own) and it plays no problem..i was like..COOL!!!!!!!!
Anmyways, around the end of the DVD it started jkumping really bad, skipping frames, and what not. I checked the oringal file (on my PC) and it didn't do it. any clues why?

    Jus tot let you know
    I have Pioneer A05
    Using ritek 1X media

  2. Poor quality media. Compress to about 3.5 Gb, and you'll probably be O.K. Avoid that brand next time.

I agree, the more you try to burn on a DVD-R the more likely you are to run into problems. The discs will sometimes start to wobble when it reaches the outside of the disc causing playback problems. Also...you didn't happen to put a paper label on it did you, cause that will cause a lot of problems also.

  4. I got a batch of them, and I use them now ONLY for programs off one of the science channels that I want to keep. After clipping the commercials, I'm left with 40 to 45 minutes of an hour program. Perfect for full DVD quality on those disks.

I find that anything beyond 4GB is often a problem ..... using ACCU and Princo. Seems to be a common problem experienced according to the threads in the forums. There have been some good discussions in the Media Forum on this site also.
