  1. Hello,

First, please forgive my ignorance - I am experienced in (S)VCD creation, but still very new to DVD burning.

I am having an issue with backing up a PAL DVD that I have (I live in the US). I have been able to successfully back this DVD up as a 1:1 copy that plays wonderfully on my computer using PowerDVD.

However, I would prefer to watch this DVD on my home player, which unfortunately cannot perform the conversion from PAL -> NTSC.

I frameserved each VOB file of the DVD separately into TMPEG, so now I have NTSC DVD mpeg files that I can rebuild into VOBs. My problem is with the menu. I would like to keep the original DVD's menu, but when I convert the menu VOB to NTSC, I lose the interactivity the menu used to have (meaning you can no longer select a scene or episode by highlighting it on the menu).

How can I restore the menu functionality? I know you can demux a VOB file into audio and video streams, but is there a separate stream for the menu interactivity? If someone could let me know how this could be done, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Julie

  2. It may not be that easy to do.

Buttons highlights are stored in subpictures. When you changed from PAL to NTSC you have changed size of the menu background, but most probably left subpictures as there were (if left them at all). This will shift highlights.

Another thing, it is not clear what procedure you used to convert formats, does to navigation packets. Try to play with VobEdit or MenuEdit.
