    word of advice
dont make new post for a question you asked in a post that was also by you. people read the posts all the time, so justbecause you think 3 or 4 replies later no one will answer a question is not true. This helps to keep the post free of clutter and repeats.

    OK
    try the avi splitter
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/10958

it should split the file for you.

likewise, you can usually find a program for just what you want at either macupdates.com or versiontracker.com.

i just typed in DIVX SPLIT and this program came up.
    that simple.

    best of luck

    Try FFmpegX 6 and up.
    It's what I use for spliting .avi's.
Go to the tools tab, deselect everything on the right except avi split.
Fill in the blanks and your done.
Also make sure the file name doesn't have any weird characters in it.
ffmpegX doesn't seem to like them.
    Hope this helps.

if ffmpegx doesnt work for you, and you have Virtual PC, there are MILLIONS of programs for pc that will work, and you might have better luck with one of them

ffmpegx should work, dont know why i didnt think of that earlier
