  1. Hello,

I am having problems converting .avi files into .mpgs using TMPGEnc.
I used AVIcodec to find out info about the avi files and the codecs used are MS MPEG4 V3. I opened TMPGEnc and on loading the files I get a "file not supported" message. I changed the Priority of the Direct Show Multimedia under the Environmental Settings of the TMPGEnc to 1, and the program just hangs up in my XP box. Thus I have no clue how to convert this to mpgs. I am able to view those on my computer using the XVID codec, but cannot get it to convert. What should I do? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I have a similiar problem. However, in GSpot, it says DivX 5.0.2, so I'm inclined to think it's actually an audio codec issue. Try the 4cc changer and make it divx/divx, works for me.

  3. Hello,

Thank you for your reply. However I did try and make it divx/divx in teh 4DC changer, and then tried to use TMPGEnc, but it does not work. I get the same "can not open, or unsupported" error. Any other ideas?

    Thanks
