I don't know if this is in another forum or not, but the search is temporarily disabled. Almost every other GoVideo player is listed in the compatibility list. I just want to know if this will play VCD's or SVCD's like the other GoVideo players.

probably not. Every Go-Video machine I tried did not recognize VCD or XVCD on CD-R media

a majority of them recognize (X)(S)VCD but its hell getting them to play on my dvp853. PBC off, PBC on, play. stop, fast forward, rewind, next chapter, previous chapter. after about 5 minutes of that crap i'll go out and get a DVD instead of burning my SVCDs.

I also own a Go Video DVP853 and I also burn and play VCDs. I burn with Nero Express and have had no problem with auto play, PBC, search, stop. etc. Have had some problems with VCDs burned with Roxio Easy CD Creator, but not with Nero. As far as I know this works with VCDs. Have not tried to burn or play SVDC or CDV (Nero doesn't support CDV format)I hope that helps.
