I seem to regularly get 'cloudy' burnt dvds, they start fine, but then half way through the write surface is this white cloudy area - obviously the disks don't work, but why is it happening?
Media type isn't an issue, it happens on all that I've tried and I've set up a 98se partition with no non-essential processes just for DVD burning.
Programs aren't an issue either, it happens with Nero, Prassi, InstantDVD (VOB) and CopytoDVD

You'll probably get your answer much faster in the "DVD Writer" area of this forum.

Had the same problem. I stopped doing disk to disk burns. So I only do image burns. That seems to solve the problem. Which media did you use? I had problems with Princo 1x white tops on a A05.

I only do image burns, or create dvds from vobs, I've never tried disk to disk copying.
My most successes are with the purple-top Bulkpaq gen3's.
Most failures with yellow Datawrites and blue Choice gen3s.
Shan't buy the last two again
