DVD to AVI

How do i rip to AVI i am using
1. Smartripper
2. DVD2AVI
3. DVDx
4. Nero

What am i not doing correctly,
What i want to do is be able to peek & Tweat my audio & video files befor, I like the features of vitualdub but have not been able to understand how to get to and AVI using the programs above. I have checked forum and i see nothing abt converting to and AVI did i overlook something...........Thanks

Well i guess i id not clearly explain what i would like to do.
I would like to backup my Classic,s To and AVI format.
I was using DVD2AVI & DVDX which works fine but end result is a D2V extension, but some of my older dvd's i need to adjust audio & video, and for that i would like to use Tmgpenc & vutualdub.

Get the VFAPI converter. It will convert the .d2v file into a fake .avi file. After that, you can load it into some encoder (I use Nandub).
